betty2dogs asked: I am looking for ideas for a birthday present for a friend who is very interested in genealogy. He spends hours and hours researching his family. I was thinking of a filing system, as he prints out many documents, but would that be useful and “gifty” enough? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Donkey asked: I am wanting to find out where my family is from. We have so many rumors about Native Indians and whether we were from France or England. We have traced a few records down to the Civil War, but those are even missing now. What is the best method to track these things down?

Az-u-can-see asked: Is there any genealogical connection between the modern day Iraqi people (Muslims and others) and ancient mesopotamians such as Babylonains, Sumerians, Assyrians and Arameans? some modern Iraqis try to link their selves to these ancient people, so is it true or just a myth? since most of modern Iraq’s population speaks Arabic as a mother tounge.

LouLou asked: If so:
Does it work? Is it beneficial? Does it hurt? How do they test you? Where do you get the test done? How long till you get the results? Is it detrimental to your health to get tested? Is it safe?
How much does it cost? With genealogy tests, do you find out exactly who’s descendants you are, can you trace it back like all the way to before 10,000 BC?
Sources will be helpful. Reliable, easy to understand, correct, and up to date sources.
