If you mean the 5 or 6 questions asked by one person this afternoon(U.S. time) and derogatory comments were made about Mormons, it appears those questions have been removed. Apparently somebody reported it and they did not meet Yahoo’s guidelines.
I think the asker had an ax to grind against genealogy or Mormons or whatever.
Everyone who has availed themselves of LDS resources know that they do not bring up their religion and do not use it as an opportunity to try and get people in their religion.
The asker allowed for email and I started to send her one. However, her tone and the answers she selected as best and her response in her selection indicated that you would be wasting your time trying to reason with her.
I have spent time on the Religion and Spirituality board and believe me there are some people you wouldn’t try to reason with.
I haven’t seen any such insults. If this has happened, I haven’t seen it. If you have seen such things, then I suggest you report them; that what it’s for, after all.
You should be aware that “freedom of religion” does not guarantee that your religion, or mine, or anyone else’s will never be criticized; only that we are free to practice it no matter what anyone else thinks of it.
in my opinion, these people don’t have any inkling about the religions they detest. it might be out of insecurity or fear from things that they don’t understand. often it made me think of (and questioned) their standing (the degree of how they exercise their faith) in their own religion… for I always believe that all religions speaks of the goodness of humankind.
deliberate insults are against yahoo policy… the comments/results got enough attention that I suspect there were many violation reports filed.
