How can I get a hold of my family genealogy on paper?

Don asked:

Hi, I’m looking as to how I can get a hold of my family tree and my parent’s family trees on paper? Does the Philippines have a national archive where I can order these sort of things?

Thanks and hope anyone can help!
Thanks for the answers all! I appreciate it and will try my best to find it out.

But if my family tree is ‘note-worthy,’ where would I go to get this kind of information?

Unless a relative (perhaps a cousin or an aunt?) has researched and published your tree, or unless your ancestors were “noteworthy” your tree will not be published somewhere.

Even if you did find parts of your tree online or in a book, it might not be accurate or true. Unfortunately many “tree-makers” are not skilled researchers, or they like to “guesstimate” — or a few just lie so that they have an interesting tree!

To truly find your ancestry, you need to research your family yourself.

Familysearch.org has a wonderful free online research guide for the Philippines. See=&Gid=&Lid=&Sid=&Did=&Juris1=&Event=&Year=&Gloss=&Sub=&Tab=&Entry=&Guide=Philippines.ASP

It will walk you step-by-step discovering your heritage.

I hope you will decide to research your family yourself! It’s a wonderful hobby!

Okey-dokey! As gene-e said, it is not likely to be found on paper. Parts of mine are printed out in books; cousins have sent part of their tree that also happens to be mine, all printed out and nice and neat, with lots of anecdotes and stories to add. For the most part, my recent ancestors came from Europe. However, my wife is from the Philippines. All my efforts to trace her ancestors has proven futile. Her Mom is dead; her Dad died last month.

But, I have found out that in the Philippines surnames did not come into standard useage until the late 1800s.

My best suggestion would be a DNA test, which at least will show just WHERE your ancestors came from (such as perhaps being part Spanish, part Chinese, of course Malay, etc.).
