GenFoum and Ancestry have forums devoted to Cuba.
I won’t venture a guess as to why there isn’t much data on the Internet about Cuban genealogy. The LDS site has a huge collection of Mexican vital records, mostly from churches, and Cuba was just as Catholic as Mexico.
