I am wondering if there are any genealogy sites that are collecting info from probate records that I could donate to. Since I will be searching the records anyway, perhaps my time could be useful to other people as well.
I know that we can submit our family tree to ancestry.com and others, but I would like to set up a website for the vast amount of information that I have collected. I would also like to provide a link from other sites. I have tons of vital records, photographs, census pages, obituaries, funeral programs, etc. I would like to set it up so that others can visit and view the documents and photos.
I looked at this one site, www.dnaancestryproject.com and im wondering, is this worth doing? How accurate can this really be and how much information can they provide me? Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.
I love learning about the origins of people. I would like to further research my fathers line and the earliest thing I can find is that our immigrant ancestor came from England. I know that there are tons of genealogy sites but I dont want to pay money and then not find anything. So I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has any information regarding the Sharp surname?
Unexpected places can lead to great breakthroughs, like checking my gr-gr-gr-grandfather’s brother’s commitment to an county old age home, led me to discover they weren’t the only ones to come to America? What led you to your breakthroughs?
A source that really helped me was my grandmother’s funeral book. Her sister who died a short time later filled in the family section.
I am trying my hand at genealogy and am working on the Minter side and found we are related to the Jones also. We were invited to the family reunion in Texas a few years back and I have lost the email address.
