Genealogy: Besides Sing Sing in Ossining was their an Eastview Prison near Tarrytown?

I found that Sing Sing Prison was named Mt Pleasant and built in Sing Sing, later Ossining New York, 6 miles from Tarrytown. Was there another Penetentiary named “Eastview” in the same area near Tarrytown, and can you provide me some details, address, other popular names for the Eastview prison, etc?

Where should I get started in finding my genealogy?

I know my mom’s side. My dad’s side, though, is what I want to know. My dad doesn’t know much about it, and whenever I ask my grandfather, he just tells us “My dad came from Armenia” and changes the subject because he’s embarrassed his family came from the Middle East.

I have a strange last name and only my grandfather’s first name to go by. Where should I start?

Oh, and I can’t pay for anything, either!

What are the options in using a DNA test to determine genealogy?

The facts of my ancestory are somewhat fuzzy. My last name is of European decent, but my grandfather told me this was because his grandfather was adopted. I am not sure if this was actually true or not because my grandfather always told crazy stories. I have heard that you can have DNA testing done to determine your exact ancestory. Genealogy - How do I search for King Adolf Ferdinand of Denmark?

Appearantly there were a lot of kings in Denmark back in the day, so I don’t know how to go about the search. He would be my great-grandfathers grand father. Is there a link to Denmark Kings or a book of Denmark Kings ? Any help appreciated.
